Thank you all for being Dishwasher Café Folx! This is a brief, extra transmission about two things Dishwasher Café has going that I thought you might want to know about:
VIDEOS!
I record video clips extremely hastily, using poorly conceived first takes. I piece them together while the children dump their dinner on the floor, and I put the resulting mini-film on the socials and YouTube.
If laughing at the ridiculous difficulty of simply getting by is your thing, I invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel. Here’s the latest:
POETRY!
There was a larger and more positive response to my recent Bathtub Poetry Tutorial than I had anticipated, so I’ll be offering an actual Poetry for Beginners, a Casual, Super-accessible, Low-stakes, Easy-peasy, Exploratory, No-Big-Deal, Virtual Learning Zone / Meetup & Discussion via Zoom next week, on Thursday, March 3rd from 12:20-1pm.*
*I will be offering alibis for those of you who are not yet ready to come clean about your inexplicable interest in poetry.
We’ll talk about ways to get started poeming, read a few poems together, do an exercise or two, and chat for a bit to shake off the dust and terror. As my daughter says, “don’t be fraid. I gotchoo.”
[$10 for the session, payable via Venmo, Paypal, large chunk of cheese, other barter agreement, or snail-mail check. Just respond to this email to get more info and/or reserve your spot.]
Lastly, if you’ve been enjoying the occasional mini-essay from the Café in your inbox, consider sharing with friends, and/or joining the growing paid subscriber list (for the price of package of baby wipes per month) to get a transmission pretty much every week PLUS access to the full archives, since we shouldn’t take any chances with our Lentil Health. I mean Mental Health.
Thank you, as always, for being a Café regular. As I say in my new YouTube channel description, here’s to your enjoyment and restoration. I do mean that.
